WRV stewardship projects are a great way for school groups or youth organizations to explore our area, get their hands dirty, and make a difference. Whether you’re looking for hands-on environmental education, a meaningful service opportunity, or just a chance to get outside, WRV can work with you to meet your needs.

Projects are:

· Educational, and can incorporate a quick lesson in the field or more in-depth before-and-after learning experience in the classroom
· Customizable, covering a range of topics including succession, fire ecology, native and invasive species, and environmental issues
· Flexible, including half-day, full-day, multi-day, and ongoing opportunities
· Skills-based and solutions-based, offering youth a real opportunity to make a difference

Each year, WRV provides field-based learning and service opportunities for hundreds of young people. We focus on meeting both the objectives of youth partners and the real needs of the public land agencies with whom we partner.

NEW: SEEDS OF STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM

In addition to field trips, WRV offers ongoing partnerships that ensure students gain an in-depth understanding of local ecology and their own role in caring for the community. This program provides an educational curriculum focused on Colorado native plants and their power to restore natural habitats. Through field-based stewardship work and classroom lessons, students walk away with a deeper sense of place and connection to the land.

The program can run from 4 months to several years and can be tailored to the needs of your school. Thanks to generous support, WRV is able to provide all the materials needed for your school to participate, including raised bed teaching gardens if applicable.
